Samsung Galaxy M11

This is the Samsung Galaxy M11. You’ve got a phone spot in the 6.4-inch display, it’s a PLS TFT capacitive touch screen display, and it’s captured through a resolution of 720P. You’ve got a 19.5 by 9 aspect ratio and 268 PPI density. It’s got an 81.6 screen to body ratio. The galaxy M11 runs on Android 10 with one UI, 2.0 with a Snapdragon 450 processor, and an adrenal five or six GPU.

This one spot 32 gigabytes of internal storage and 3 gigabytes of ram with an eight-megapixel phone facing camera. The triple camera sets up behind comprising of a 13 megapixel, a 5 megapixel, and a 2-megapixel camera. This phone spots of 5,000 mAh battery that fast charges at 15 Watts and all of this, you’re getting for KES 16,500. And supposedly that comes in the entry-level for Samsung. But is the Galaxy M11 worth it? And should you go for this kind of phone in 2020?

Build quality

Let’s take a look. In terms of build quality, this phone isn’t bad at all. In my opinion, I feel like it’s properly built. You got the glass front and you’ve got plastic back-end frames and the fact that it’s got plastic isn’t the deal-breaker in any way this phone feels very dense. and that’s attributable to the 5,000 mAh battery that you’ll have on this phone.

For the ports and bottom placements, you’ve got a USB type C charging port below, you’ve got your speaker grills, and a microphone cut out over. On the right of the device, you got your power button and your volume rocker button to the left. You’ve got a dwell scene tray slot that also included an expansion SD card slot.

What’s inside?

And on the top, you’ve got a 3.5-millimeter headphone port. The build quality of the Samsung Galaxy M11 has a fingerprint scanner at the back, but in terms of performance, how does this device perform? I’ll put it this way, I will call this device a 6 out of 10 for performance. A lot of the animations on this phone have been stripped off.

You don’t get any app only opening or closing animation. It’s a 1.8 gigahertz, Snapdragon 450 processor, a quite low, in my opinion, for a KES 17,500 phone. But again, the phone is still usable and performs quite decent with app opening speed. You can play 3D games on the galaxy M11, but I can assure you that it’s going to be very slow and you get a lot of frame drops and stuttering on your game.

Battery life

On charging, it charges the 5,000 mAh battery (see Nokia 1 Plus) from 0 to 100% in just about two hours using the included 15 Watts charger. In terms of performance, this battery life will take you a full day. You will still have some extra up to like 20% battery life left at the end of the day. And that’s because it’s paired with a 720P screen so the power consumption on that battery or the power utilization on that battery isn’t that much. The Galaxy M11 is great for battery life, an 8.5 out of 10 for battery life.

Galaxy M11 cameras

Now let’s talk about one of the main things that a lot of you will be looking out for here, which are the cameras. How well do the cameras on the Samsung Galaxy M11 perform well for the selfie camera? A four out of 10, that’s because most of the time, no matter what scenery you are in bright daylight or indoors, the image isn’t that clear.

There’s a lot of graininess on the image but it’s still usable. You’ll be very happy is when you flip over to the rear. The camera combination is impressive. Pictures are clear, especially when you’re in daylight. Some of the places where it struggles are in dynamic range and of course, you know, that would happen to be that this is an entry-level device. Is the depth-sensing camera here any good?

More camera features

Well, edge detection, isn’t that great, it’s working, but it isn’t all that great at all. Macro shots here are not that great as well, but it works just fine if you have sufficient lighting. Taking a view of the software here, this is typical Samsung’s one UI and you have everything that comes with Samsung’s One UI 2.0 just as you have in the biggest smartphones as well. There’s dark mode here and it works just fine. You have all your settings, features just as you have on the biggest Samsung phones. Again, don’t expect anything fast on this phone.

This is an entry-level device, and that’s what you need to keep at the back of your mind on how this device works. On the video quality and audio performance of the galaxy M11, video quality is just okay, not that great. But one thing about this phone that you would love is the fact that color accuracy on this phone is on point.

Would I buy this device or recommend you to buy this device for KES 15,500? (see also Galaxy A20s) Well, if you’re looking for just a secondary phone to use as something like a backup phone. Feel free to spend then the Samsung Galaxy M11 is a good choice to go for. There are many phones out there, which are a tad bit higher than this which I would prefer to go for.

But if you are on a budget, you want to get tight on cash, and this is absolutely a good buy for you. One other thing you get in here is that Samsung brand. The build quality, and even if anything happens with your phone, you’re able to get that resolved easily

That is the Samsung Galaxy M11, a good phone probably a 6 out of 10 overall. For the price point, I think it should be a bit lower. But this is a good phone, and if you want to go for this one, well, you may not be disappointed.
