Design
The Realme C30s comes with impressive design that features an all-boxy design that is similar to smartphones that cost much more. The approach to phone design was first seen with Apple iPhones and has trickled down to Android phones. The phone has a plastic back that has a nice grip to it, making it not slippery. The phone also includes a case in the package. However, if you want to keep the phone in pristine condition, it is recommended to use the case as it helps protect the device in case of a fall.
Another impressive feature of the Realme C30s is the side-mounted fingerprint reader. This is a feature that is usually skipped by phone makers for their budget devices. Customers are left with three choices: a PIN, password, or pattern, which are not the fastest way of getting into your device. Thus, seeing a fingerprint reader at this budget is a great thing, and it is also part of the power button, which gives the backplate a very clean vibe. The Realme C30s has a blueish colour rear which Realme calls Stripe Blue. The rear has nothing except the camera island that houses one camera lens.
Screen
The Realme C30s has a 6.5-inch, 720 x 1600 pixels screen that also has a notch for the 5 MP selfie snapper. Although it’s an okay screen, it doesn’t get as punchy in brightly lit environments. But keep in mind that this is a budget device.
Performance
The Realme C30s performs okay for the price. It has an unnamed Octa-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A55, which powers Android 12 and Realme UI Go. This is the Go version of Android, which means it has been toned down to run just fine with low-end specs. The phone moves along just fine when running normal apps, especially Go/Lite versions of popular apps. However, things start slowing down when you start opening multiple apps, especially heavy ones such as social media applications. The phone will struggle to run them optimally, and even scrolling through a feed becomes a challenge. However, this is an issue that all phones around this budget have, and it would be naïve of us to expect it to run as fast as phones that cost twice or thrice as much. It is recommended to use Lite apps, as they use fewer resources, and you could end up having a great experience with the phone.
Battery Life
The Realme C30s comes with a Li-Po 5000 mAh cell that will keep the device juiced for a whole day and then some. You can get two days out of the phone if you use it less frequently.
Camera Performance
The Realme C30s has an 8 MP camera and a 5 MP selfie camera. When it comes to camera performance, the phone is quite impressive, considering its price range. When compared to other budget phones, the camera quality is above average. However, it would be unrealistic to expect the camera to compete with high-end flagship phones.
